The mountains and valleys of Montana are a majestic and a beautiful place to explore.

Have you been longing to take on the challenges of hiking a rugged mountain trail, conquering your fears of whitewater rafting or finding your footing and your balance as you take a paddle board across a mountain lake? Are you unsure of how to achieve your goals? Are you nervous about being in this wild country for the first time? Join the Montana Sojourn: Get Wild in Glacier to build your strength, stamina and confidence to achieve this goal with Becki Rupp, Trailblazer Wellness, and Christine Winebrenner Irick, Lotus Sojourns.

Becki is a certified personal trainer and health coach who has hiked hundreds of trails across the US and in multiple countries, guided sea kayak tours, and searched for missing people as a member of a wilderness search and rescue team. Becki will guide you as you build your capabilities and confidence to conquer your adventure ambitions and Get Wild!

Christine guides women on intentional journeys incorporating adventure travel and personal transformation. Christine is passionate about creating connected communities of women, and crafting experiences that build on the inherent transformational power of travel and guides travelers to use this journey as a catalyst for their own transformation.  She has worked in the tourism industry for 20 years, has a Masters degree in Sustainable Destination Management, and is committed to using travel as a vehicle for good. She shares stories of her like-hearted colleagues on her Soul of Travel podcast.  She is also a certified yoga instructor and focuses on a gentle practice that offers connection to nature, spirit and self through postures, meditation and breathwork.  She is the mother of three young girls who are a beautiful reminder for her to stay committed to her dream to create a world where all women know themselves as equal and valuable members of our global community, and are strongly connected to their true self and the power of their voice.

GET WILD! Adventure Coaching & Community Creation
June 6 – August 23, 2022


Our virtual group sessions will each be 60-90 minutes long and take place on Tuesday evenings at 6:00 pm Mountain on Zoom. Some dates/times may fluctuation to accommodate our guest presenter’s schedules. They will also be recorded and shared with the group. The one-on-one coaching with Becki will be arranged individually. Yoga sessions will be on Saturday morning, unless otherwise noted.

Week 1 ~ June 6-10
Introduction to the training plan and one-on-one meetings with Becki to customize the training plan based on your lifestyle, current activity level and preferences.

Week 2 ~ June 14
Group Session 1: Preparing for a Transformational Experience, including journaling guidance.

Week 3 ~ June 20-24
One-on-one coaching session with Becki. One-on-one intention setting session with Christine.

Week 4 ~ June 28
Group Session 2: Selecting footwear and gear for your adventure.

Week 5 ~ July 4-8
One-on-one coaching session with Becki.

Week 6 ~ July 12
Group Session 3: The history and culture of the Ktunaxa Amakis (Kootenai)/Salish/Blackfeet peoples in this area.

Week 7 ~ July 18-22
One-on-one coaching sessions with Becki.

Week 8 ~ July 26
Group Session 4: Q&A and experience sharing.

Week 9 ~ August 1-5
One-on-one coaching with Becki.

Week 10 ~ August 9
Group Session 5: Nutrition on the Trail.

Week 11 ~ August 15-19
One-on-one coaching with Becki. One-on-one mindset and intention session with Christine.

Week 12 ~ August 23
Group Session 6: Glacier Geology, Hiking in Bear Country and What to Expect on Hike Day with a local guide (TBA).


Montana Sojourn: Get Wild! Women’s Wilderness Retreat

August 28
Arrive to our private home rental near Glacier National Park in the early evening. Welcome dinner followed by an intention-setting session for our days together. (D)

August 29
Spend a relaxing day unwinding on the shores of Halfmook Lake or Lake 5. Christine will lead yoga and guided meditation, then choose from swimming, local hikes, or reading and pure relaxation. In the afternoon we set off for a whiskey tasting at a local distillery followed by dinner and an evening gathering under the stars. (B, L, D)

August 30
Today is when things start to Get Wild! We’ll set off for an early-morning horseback ride with a local outfitter and enjoy two hours on the trail. After our ride we’ll have time for a nourishing lunch and a quick splash in the lake before setting off on our second adventure for the day. This afternoon we’ll head for the river that borders Glacier National Park to navigate the rapids and enjoy the scenery. We’ll end our float with dinner on the shores of the river. (B, L, D)

August 31
Another adventure-filled day will be spent in Glacier National Park. Our group will be by a local guide on a personalized hike in the park to explore and enjoy the out-of-this-world views and landscapes. Our expert guide is an official education partner of Glacier National Park and the Flathead National Forest. (B, L, D)

September 1
Choose your own adventure!
Now that you are comfortable with getting uncomfortable, you’ll have the opportunity to choose your own adventure to test your boundaries and grow a little more. We are so excited for you to personalized this day of your journey.* You can choose from an additional day hike in Glacier or surrounding area, an e-bike rental, zip lining, SUP yoga, Red Bus tour of the park or for a quieter adventure or nourishment you can join a traditional yoga class, sign up for a massage or take a mala workshop. You may also choose to explore the nearby town of Whitefish or spend a quiet day at our retreat on the lake. (B, D)

  • 3-month training plan for our full day hike in Glacier and other activities (which may include horseback, paddle boarding and yoga) with cardio/stamina building cadence, strength training exercises and yoga sessions, developed by personal trainer and yoga instructor.

ACTIVITY LEVEL

Medium-High.  Activity includes walking and hiking on uneven terrain and may include horseback riding, whitewater rafting and paddle boarding.  Keep in mind that altitude will be a consideration for this Sojourn and that adds to the physical demands of the activities.

HEALTH

You will be required to complete a Heath and Fitness Questionnaire prior to the pre-journey training program. You will also be required to complete a Health Decleration Form three days prior to the journey. Please see the “Terms and Conditions” for this journey for additional information.

MONEY

PACKING TIPS:

When you prepare to pack for your Sojourn visit our Conscious Products page to find brands we love to support that champion sustainable or fair trade practices. We have also picked out some of our favorite travel clothes and gear to help make packing easy for you. We will be spending our Week 4 discussion covering footwear and answering packing questions.

WEATHER:
The weather in Montana is always variable, especially in the shoulder seasons. You might anticipate average lows of 50* and highs of 84* but be aware that seasonal storms or heat waves can both be common this time of year. It is also common to be experiencing fire season in this area at this time of year.

LUGGAGE & GEAR:

We will review the best gear specific to the day of hiking in our Week 4 discussion. There are no restrictions for personal luggage.
